Surprise. This is. I don't. I don't. I don't know how to start this episode, honestly.
I'm sure you guys will have already guessed based upon whatever really sad title I put for this episode.

No. Um. Yeah, this is. This is unexpected for both of us, too, in some ways. It clearly. When we ended last season, we were not expecting this. We were planning on coming back for season three at the beginning of October, but this is going to be our final episode of Investigating, and I'll explain to you a little bit why.
So I. Both of us are having some pretty big life changes happening.
Like, it literally the past, like, two weeks, both of us have had some massive stuff going on in our lives. For me, my family's been trying to move out of Ohio, where we live right now, for a while, and so we have finally gotten the opportunity to leave. I sound like I'm escaping, but I kind of am.
We kind of have gotten the opportunity to leave, and I'm moving back home to California, which if you guys it. First of all, for those of you who know how expensive LA is, like, you know what a big deal that is, but it's also a really big deal for me because you, as people who've been listening to the podcast, know that Tabby and Leah live there. I love them so much and I miss them. And me and my family have been in the military.
We were in there for about 10 years, and then we've been out of the military for a couple years now. But I never thought I was going to be able to move back home because of it being so expensive and then also being the military and stuff.
And we've got an amazing opportunity to be able to do so. And so I'm going to be able to live. I've never lived near my sisters in my adult life. Like, Leah was 11 when I left California.
[00:02:44] Speaker B: She has a baby now.
[00:02:45] Speaker A: Yeah, and she has a baby now, which is like. That was the number one reason I was like, okay, Carter's there. I need to move.
[00:02:50] Speaker B: Carter's there.
[00:02:50] Speaker A: Kick it into gear, Andrew.
Yeah. And so. And this is, like. This makes me cry every day.
One of the things that was really hard about moving was that I didn't get the chance to see my sister's childhood, and I wasn't there for like any of those things. So this is a really, I'm really excited to be able to move back near my sisters, for us to all be adults together and also to like, be there for their kids lives for like the stuff that's going on with them. But also like, and this was. It was really important to Andrew for us to move back because he remembers Leah sobbing when he had to, you know, move me out of California. And he had always promised, stole you from California. I'm not even joking. It was so funny. He was teasing her when we were getting married and he was like, what are you getting me for my wedding, Leah? And she was like, I'm already giving you my sister. I'm not giving you a present.
[00:03:44] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly.
[00:03:46] Speaker A: But he had always promised her. He was like, I will make sure, like, you guys will be reunited and I'll bring you back. And so.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: Aw, that's so sweet.
[00:03:54] Speaker A: It's been 13 years. And so I just think it's like a really wonderful bookend for the podcast because we started the podcast as a way to hang out with each other and to make friends. And then Leia and I got to be friends.
[00:04:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:08] Speaker A: And I just feel like how wonderful that I get to go move back near them. And.
Yeah. So I, I tried really hard to make it work. I. I thought about, you know, trying to continue with Stranger Things. The big thing is that I have literally seven weeks to like, sell my house and move. And. And then it's gonna be the holidays and stuff, and then my life's gonna look very different in California.
A lot of big changes. And so the more I thought about it, the more I was like, I don't know how I'm going to be able to consistently record.
I don't know how I'm going to be able to give you guys in depth analysis, all the detail that I would love to be able to continue doing. I feel like we kind of started with a standard really high and I think it would have to change a little bit and I don't really want to do that.
So the more I thought about it, the more I was like, I think unfortunately, this is just a good time to stop.
So.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: Yeah, fair.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
Yeah. It's really hard because I'm a completionist and I was like, stranger things. But then I just was like, I can't, like, it's not fair to my family and I really kind of need to focus on the stuff going on in my real life.
[00:05:16] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day, we do this for fun and if we can. Right. So.
[00:05:21] Speaker A: Yeah. And it's been six and a half years. Yeah. And I have to remind myself that my life is very, very different now.
Yeah. So it's really bittersweet. And I'm gonna miss so many of you guys, and I'm gonna miss doing this with you every week. Leia.
[00:05:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:39] Speaker A: Leah.
[00:05:40] Speaker B: You got Leah on the light.
[00:05:42] Speaker A: Finally, someone out there so confused, they're like, wait, I thought this was Leia.
[00:05:46] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:05:49] Speaker A: But, yeah.
[00:05:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:51] Speaker A: So that's my story.
[00:05:52] Speaker B: That's your story.
[00:05:53] Speaker A: Leia, unfortunately, has to just kind of go along with whatever I choose.
[00:05:58] Speaker B: No, I feel like this is. You know, I feel like it's the right time for me, too. Like, I just. I just recently lost my job, so. That's great.
[00:06:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: And, yeah, I feel like it's. It's like a new era for me, too. I have to kind of figure out what I'm gonna do next, so, you know, take some time. I have the luxury of, like, being able to take a little bit of time to figure it out, and then who knows what's gonna be ahead for me? I don't know. I really don't know.
But, yeah, I think this is the right time, you know?
[00:06:36] Speaker A: Yeah. The more I thought about it, because I. I was kind of holding on to it. I really wanted to do it, and the more I thought about it, I was like, I think.
I think this is a good time to stop as. As sad as it is. But I'm also, like, so proud of everything we did with Angel. Like, and so proud of everything.
Stranger things, right?
[00:06:56] Speaker B: That's an accomplishment. Yeah. For sure.
[00:06:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
Yeah. I think I'm. I think I'm gonna really miss engaging with the community as much as we have, which, I mean, we'll still have the discord. It's still gonna be there. We still have our Instagram and stuff, which we'll. We'll definitely continue to talk with all of you out there. I think. You know, it's just. It's been so fun having all of our guests on, meeting all of you guys, discussing every week all the stuff that's happening over on angel and Stranger Things. I think I'm gonna really miss that. But I just have been so, like, you guys have brought so much joy into my life, and I've met so many amazing people and had. We've developed so many relationships, so many of you we talk to on a daily basis.
[00:07:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: That it feels like I know all of you, so it's just, I. I mean, I know it's. It's probably different for you guys because you hear our voices and stuff, but I also want you to know, like, this is like gonna be hard for us too. Like, it's meaningful to us that you listen to us and that we also get to talk to you. It's not just one sided. And yeah, it's meant a lot.
[00:08:03] Speaker B: I just think.
[00:08:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:04] Speaker B: After like, like especially like during COVID and after like post Covid, I think this was, I don't know, it was so nice to like sit down and record every week and do that and you know, watch like a show and talk about it and rediscover things about like, angel and all this stuff. And I think eventually, like, like, I think like I said, right now is like, I think a good time.
Who knows what the future holds? Like, who knows if like not. Not promising anything or anything, but who knows if like a few years down the line we decide something's really interesting to us and we want to like, come back and cover it? I. I'd be open to it if
[00:08:46] Speaker A: life allows it for sure. But yeah, yeah, if life. If I have time in my life, if there's. Yeah, there's a show we really want to. I mean, I'd always. I've obviously really majorly enjoy podcasting. I enjoy like obviously talking with you and stuff. So I'm not closing the door on that. I just think for this season of life for both of us, it's just one of those things where we just need to step back from it and move on to other things. I also have a lot of things I want to do that's still Buffy related. Like, I'd love to write a fan fiction. I've promised you that you should. I have a video I want to do on Seeing Red. I have all these things in my mind. I still have that book I want to do. Like, there's a lot of things I want to do that I kind of can't get to while I'm doing podcasting and also do my regular life with. So it will be really wonderful to be able to kind of focus on some of those different things that are still Buffy related.
I'm very excited about all of that other stuff and maybe one day we'll come back and have something else to say. I'm not going to say never.
[00:09:45] Speaker B: Perhaps.
Yeah.
[00:09:47] Speaker A: But yeah, we actually do have two episodes that we recorded because we started recording season three.
We have season three, episode one, and season three, episode two that are all Finished recording. I've started editing some of them because we would like to upload those for you guys. We worked really hard and kind of give you guys a bit of a taste of what season three would have been. I know it's, like, really bittersweet, especially. I'm bummed. I wanted to talk about season four really bad. I know you did, too.
[00:10:13] Speaker B: I really wanted to. I think I'm definitely gonna keep watching, like, re watching Stranger Things because I, like, I haven't seen it since it first came out, so, you know, and also watch, like, other things that are coming up. Like, yellow jackets is coming back. I still have to watch his and hers, so definitely we'll still be watching stuff, you know.
[00:10:36] Speaker A: Yeah. And I promise Tony, he has a show he wants to show me, so I will definitely be coming back for that. That is going to be a little bit different, obviously, like, not our first podcast. Tone is a lot chiller, and if someone else is leading it, it's easier. And it's only, like, usually around six weeks, so I might be coming back for that every once in a while. We'll see. No promises, but.
Yeah, well, we'll still be around. We're still going to be doing things, but as of now, this will be the last episode that we record. And I'm going to try and edit the two episodes of season three that we have finished, and I'm gonna post them for you guys. I don't know when. Again, super duper busy. I'm gonna try and get that done in the next couple of weeks. I'll post them and then you guys can have those to listen to. But, yeah, super weird.
[00:11:31] Speaker B: I, like.
[00:11:32] Speaker A: I'm like, I don't know how to end all of this, but, I mean, how do you.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: Yeah, how do you like. Sorry, guys.
[00:11:38] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry, guys. I know this is out of nowhere and everything, but we just really wanted to thank everyone, specifically all our many, many guests over our time of so many things. And angel, obviously. We have Stephen, Cara from Prophecy Girls. We have revamped with Brandon and Courtney, Robbie, Tony, Naj, Jess, Jim, Tabby and Leah, Kat, Kirsten, Meg, Hannah, Chrissy, David, Bri, Abby, and Alexandra. Thank you guys so much for coming on and talking about these shows that you're so passionate about.
And I just. You guys made our podcasting experience even more fun. Yeah. And it just especially helped us get through the slog of three and four of Angel. Like, you guys were a lifeline, to be honest.
[00:12:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
You know what? Looking back on that time right now, I'M just like, wow, that was such a slog. But at the same time, now you're all nostalgic. No, I'm not even nostalgic. It was just, like, so fun to complain about it a little bit. Like, thinking it was really fun to talk shit About Angel Season 3 and 4. Looking back on it now, lots of really great jokes came out of that.
[00:12:55] Speaker A: Some of our best episodes, honestly, come from that. Yeah, it was a slog to get through when you had to look and be like, oh, I still have 17 more episodes to go. But, like, going back and listening to some of them, very entertaining, super fun. And also being able to hate on it with you guys, too. Or even some of you guys were like, I love this. I know it's messy and not great, but I still think it's so much fun. And I just. I think that that made it all the more fun for. I mean, we. We complained, but I think, yeah, I still had fun. Yeah. I won't say you.
[00:13:28] Speaker B: It was fun. It was fun, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. So thanks for whoever is still here from the very beginning, like, you are an mvp.
[00:13:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Everyone who stuck around. You guys are amazing, so. I know there are other podcasters that are getting ready to start Angel. I'm sure there's going to be other people doing Stranger things as well. Maybe someone else will, you know, pick up the baton and continue on with stranger things and stuff.

It's a show that not a lot of people talked about. And so it was like. It felt like. It felt like, unlike Buffy, which has been gone over many, many times, every
[00:17:37] Speaker B: other month, there's a new Buffy podcast.
[00:17:40] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Not that I'm not proud of what I did over on Buffy. I think I added some stuff over on Buffy, too, But, like, angel was one of those shows that was severely neglected, and I'm very proud of the work that we did and stuff, so. And I'm proud of you, Leia. I'm proud of you going through all of angel and part of Stranger Things, because not many people did. You guys know most podcasts fizzle out after the first seven episodes.
[00:18:04] Speaker B: That's crazy. Yeah.
[00:18:06] Speaker A: The vast majority don't even make it past the second episode. But it's the seventh one, I think is, like, they say, like, only I'd forget the percentage. But a very, very small percentage of people make it past seven. And I feel like.
[00:18:19] Speaker B: I feel like I made it through because of you. Like, you're such a. You're just always.
[00:18:24] Speaker A: I don't know how to do it. It might be a mental illness thing.
[00:18:27] Speaker B: No, it's not a bad thing.
[00:18:29] Speaker A: Like, I just think it can't be.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: I never. I don't think I ever would have, like, done a podcast or podcasted if it wasn't for you kind of being like, hey, like, I know how to do this. Let's do it together. And you kind of, like, you know, teaching me how to edit and, like, all the ins and outs of it. And, you know, I remember starting out and just not really knowing how to.
Just, like, talking on a podcast. You have to kind of get used to it. And I feel like in the beginning, it was like, okay, he's trying to find our footing and all this stuff. But I feel like, you know, I never would have done this if I didn't meet you. And then we decided to do this together, you know? But that's because of you.
Because I was never. I was never gonna, like, take the
[00:19:15] Speaker A: initiative and be, like, start a podcast.
[00:19:17] Speaker B: I was not gonna start a podcast. You know, I wouldn't have known where to start. Right. Like, but you already knew all the basics, and I feel like that helped a lot. And then obviously, like, we got into it and it was great and we just kept going and.
Yeah, I mean, I'm definitely proud of us, too. So.
[00:19:34] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, we did. Like, I don't even know. I don't even know how many episodes we've done, but a lot.
[00:19:40] Speaker B: A lot of them.
[00:19:40] Speaker A: I'm proud of us. I'm proud of what we've accomplished. I'm so, so, so proud of every episode that we did. Like, I've gone back and listened to a few, and I'm just like, dang, like, we did that. Not only did we just go and do it, but I think we did the. To the best of our ability. And I feel like we brought so much new and interesting and fresh takes and conversations. And also, we were so funny. Not us gassing ourselves up here.
[00:20:06] Speaker B: We were amazing. We were amazing. And if you don't think so, so then. Yeah.

[00:20:35] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Which reminds me, I'm gonna be moving over. I'm gonna be moving our podcast. It's gonna stay on. Don't worry. But I'm going to be moving it on to a new platform, just with us kind of signing off and everything. I'm moving kind of everything over to Spotify because it's free, so I don't have to keep paying for a subscription. So I've been doing that with our. Not our first podcast episode this past week, trying to, like, put it on all the platforms. And I.
